Re: 1986 FIERO COUPE WITH LS4 V8
Weak sauce, my 350TPI 6-speed IROC-Z (before the turbo setup and with my 'spot on' $8D tune), on a highway trip through a mountain range and in traffic with lots of shifting averaged 27.5 mpg at around 70-75mph. HAH! (I was actually going for best mileage that trip, though. Still, it surprised me) I...

Re: 1986 FIERO COUPE WITH LS4 V8
My (at least, others with identical ones, heh) 312hp 6-spd manual Camaro knocks down 34mpg on an easy highway cruise, and has a 19 gallon gas tank. Northstar Fiero what? :p If I were healthy and rich, I'd be swapping an LLT into my Fiero regardless of how difficult it'd be. :) Darnit, sorry for the ...

Re: 1986 FIERO COUPE WITH LS4 V8
Why would you swap in a V8 if you want gas mileage? If you're doing it for the 'best of both worlds' then yeah, leave your LS4 stock with its slushbox. Get your poor V8/4 gas mileage with your mediocre powerband, and your ability to roast rubber all day to impress all the sexah redneck ladies...

Re: 1986 FIERO COUPE WITH LS4 V8
+1, but add motorcycles into that equation, too.
Nice car, GLWS. I'm glad these are becoming more popular swaps. With mods to make more power up high (and, so, less torque down low), they'd make an even more awesome Fiero engine.

Re: FS: Two Talon TSi AWD's, one of them runs 11's.
Thread jacks are cool with me, it's my thread, and that may get it more exposure anyway. :D The LY7 is the non-DI version of the CTS/Camaro 3.6 which is the LLT. But yeah, the harnesses are similar AFAIK, and it does go through EVERYTHING. I have certain options that I can control through the radio....

Re: FS: Two Talon TSi AWD's, one of them runs 11's.
Dude, did you say you were getting a fifth gen Camaro? If so post some pics up when ya get it! Here are a few. I absolutely love it so far (and much more so without the white stripes). It definitely takes the 'edge' off of dumping my TT IROC-Z for cheap. :/ This 304hp V6 Camaro roughly equals the p...

Re: FS: Two Talon TSi AWD's, one of them runs 11's.
Thanks yeah. It's pig heavy already, don't need the LS3. 426 bhp doesn't mean much when it's over 4000lbs wet! This is my (manual) DD, so has enough go to keep me satisfied... because my 88 Fiero, as soon as it's finished (90% by bmwguru 10% by me), will walk all over any near-stock SS in a straight...

Re: FS: Two Talon TSi AWD's, one of them runs 11's.
Okay :) Teaser... DSCN4771smaller.JPG It's already mine, but tomorrow they're fixing a tiny ding/scratch it got on the bumper during dealer transfer, and they're removing the white stripes for me (too "LOOK AT ME!" on a black car... no thanks). I had to pay for the stripes anyway because i...

Re: FS: Two Talon TSi AWD's, one of them runs 11's.
$5000 for EVERYTHING today only. Tomorrow my new car is going to be sitting in the driveway, and these being gone will help me with everything. If they're still here, quick work is going into the '96 to get it driving again with a new battery, video and pics will be taken soon, and the price will g...

Re: FS: Two Talon TSi AWD's, one of them runs 11's.
Will has driven the '96 pretty extensively. He even got a ticket for doing something like 86 in a 50 in it, haha.
He can vouch for race gas and/or E85 turning this into an *enter some awesome adjective here*.

Re: FS: Two Talon TSi AWD's, one of them runs 11's.
I have tons of pics of the '96 in its prime, here a few of my favorites. With a professional quality prep and paint it could look this good again or better. Otherwise, you could paint it cheap, strip it out, and turn it into a sweet lightweight AWD racecar. :) http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/8418...

$3500 for the '96 Talon. $3000 for the '98 Talon with the extra 2.4 $6000 for all of it. Cash or Paypal only (some type of instant payment, in other words). I won't mess around. If you're serious, be serious and we'll talk. '96 Talon TSi AWD 5-speed (125k miles) w/ 97-98 style body + stock '96 side...

Re: 1990 twin-turbo 350 6-speed IROC-Z
I'm desperate now, fever pitch. I wrecked my daily-driver motorcycle (at slow speeds, but it landed on top of me hard. Ouch) and I need a big down-payment and room for my new car. Both of my 2G AWD Talons are going cheap, too. I HAVE to get to work reliably. Bills to pay and all that. Unfortunately ...

Re: 1990 twin-turbo 350 6-speed IROC-Z
Why not just link your build thread? Because I don't want the sometimes elitist Fiero community as a whole to pick apart every detail, error, and triumph of my efforts. For anyone really interested in the car, PM me and I'll give you a link. Awesome car man. I would almost consider trading my Fiero...

Let me just shorten this to say...
They're both the exact same '80s GM junk. It's all in how you build it.
