I briefly conversed with them Via email, they said they could regrind it, IIRC, they said $175, but it's been a few weeks.

Re: dura-pig? durpig?

I had found myself wanting to work on the firebird, but when I realized the LB7 and GMT800 chassis were taking up most of the space in the garage, I realized it would be significantly smarter for me to get the ball rolling on a vehicle that doesn't move, rather than one that does, so I started makin...

Re: really dude?

For the past few weeks, I've been desperately wanting to work on this car, but I've also had a ton of work to do on the house, so I haven't. I had the past two and a half days off, and on tuesday I was really thinking about messing with it. I have the 5.3, and T5 in the garage, but the T5 also conce...

Re: wet sump engine oil control, a thread.

I've been giving careful consideration to pan baffles, and I had come up with something I thought was reasonable, a perimeter baffle all the way around, with a slanted top to allow oil to drain past the baffle. when oil hits the side of the sump, the baffle would redirect it back into the sump inste...

I think we'll have to get Jinxmutt back on here to find out.

Re: progress on the banshee...

for sure, I kinda like exercises like this because they help me develop skills to do things better the first time. -------------- I'm still waiting on the rest of the ultra low profile screws for the link bars, but I did a test fit in one of the blocks I have, and it looks like they will work once I...

Re: rocker arms

It's possible those lifters won't work in a later 60v6 without modifications, I ran into that on the Johnson lifters I'm installing on my car. The pushrod hits the lifter body in my case because the lifter body is long, and the pushrod has to be at an angle to reach the valves. Thanks, i'm kinda par...

Re: The Hunt!/Eric's new dump.

plumbing, plumbing, plumbing... drain plumbing is the most awkward and tedious thing to work on, it's, both "meh, close enough" and "fuck, I'm off by 1/2 a cunt hair" at the same time, but thankfully, all I have left is to tie in the header to the septic tank, the kitchen sink, a...

Re: rocker arms

It calls for SBC lifters? Spacing won't be right for the linkage. I have yet to find anything with the correct geometry. Clearance between rockers, valve cover, and lower intake is also going to be quite the issue. Even the LX9 is difficult for rockers because of the raised intake port. You will al...

Re: Dry sump oil control, a thread.

Thanks for the pictures! I've been going back and forth on this in my head a bunch, I think I won't be doing dry sump until I make the step to an LZ9, but I'll post up details as I come up with problems, and solutions.

Re: Who wants to design a LZ itb intake and 3d print it?

I'm working on it. Not sure of you recall but I got hit with Covid19 twice and then I got the really good news with Stage-IV cancer. I beat that in the last year and jumping back into lots of projects. This is definitely on my list but I have some catching up to do. What Will said! damn man, sounds...

Re: progress on the banshee...

oh boy, here we go... so, the fairing blocks I had made weren't quite to spec, I had turned them down just a hair under, target, and upon closer inspection, my target was also a hair too small, Target was 0.672" I ended up at around 0.668" after remeasuring more carefully, I found that the...

Re: Who wants to design a LZ itb intake and 3d print it?

Ferrari V12's have ports centered on the bore centerline and a bank offset that's only the width of the connecting rod... thus the ports interfere with each other. The V6/60 has a port offset to the bore centerline (I hope the same direction for each cylinder on the LZ9, but earlier engines did not...

Re: rocker arms

I assume you're planning to put this in a fiero? I'm also assuming no VVT? what transmission would you run? and auto might require a pretty high stall converter, and finding one might not be easy. do you have something in mind for an intake manifold to go with the cam? stock? custom plenum? bolt on ...

That's a massive cam, I was figuring my cam was pretty hot... Have you verified that cam will fit in a VVT block? What timing chain setup does it use?

Re: rocker arms

" I'm not sure there's a significant benefit" I have an old solid roller cam that requires adjustable rocker arms. so that's an important detail that you left out. I assume you already have lifters? how aggressive is the cam? why do you want a solid cam? you need to be able to set valve l...
