Ah yes, the elusive 1994 model. Very hard to find. I think we can safely assume this guy didn't build the car himself.

It was on Pfiffle.
Maybe Indy can chime in, but I was under the impression that it would be hard to put together an SD4 longblock for $7K, much less a whole running engine.

The SD is cool and all but there isn't anything it can do that a off the shelf parts ecotec couldn't do while being lighter and having a much broader powerband.

You could probably do a long block for <5K if you didn't want anything nice...Use SBC valves, pistons, rods, BBC rocker arms. Score an old Pontiac SD crank from somewhere. When I still had the Diamond pistons my shortblock with cam totaled a little under $3000. Used-ish crank, new block. After the custom CP's, I didn't bother with keeping track...
