Re: 3900 turbo with cam from Youtube
Shaun, I am going turbo as well, gt3582r. I already have a 65mm tb and adaptor. Thanks though! We could figure out your torque numbers, its just some math! HP×5252÷RPM. Eric, Perhaps the lifter pre-load is why they require new pushrods… but back to the same question… how would it be different than ...

Re: 3900 turbo with cam from Youtube
In this video, I share my cam card. It shows the part number as well as the grind numbers. https://youtu.be/K1nybJ9krbU?si=qEemNTbl4UlcgZCb You have to choose the grind numbers based on a sbc since the journals and lobes of the older 3400s share the sizes as a sbc. There are a decent amount of grind...

Re: Lz9 + 4 spd manual trans in 86 GT swap
Shaun any chance of running a double roller timing set if you had a cam with the three bolt gear mount? Any progress? I haven't looked into a double roller tbh. I did verify that the 3 bolt pattern on the lnj cam, and the 3 bolt pattern on the stock 2.8 cam gear do not match up i was actually check...

Re: dura-pig? durpig?
Interesting. A new hat could allow for larger lines like you are doing for more flow.
I know it sounds wild, but I've been contemplating the injector dynamics brushless pump and controller for a mere 3k bucks but it fits the stock tank but I'd want a larger feed line from the hat

Lnj cams came in and they look correct. I'll be sending it off to comp to see what they can do

Lnj camshafts for LZ swaps might now have limited availability
Gmparts direct shows the cams as discontinued. Howard did a part number search, and found some places with them still in stock according to their website. So I took a chance and ordered it, and they claim to have shipped with a tracking number. I'll wait for it to arrive to verify if it indeed is th...

Re: progress on the banshee...
Solder joint in the harness at the connector. By the time I got it fixed, batt was dead. Leaving the key on for 30 min drained mine down to unstartable. I think Odyssey even states the time to discharge somewhere. It's not a battery you have in a car that you take to a drive in(I'm old) and leave th...

Re: progress on the banshee...
If any EFI system of the last 25 years is working correctly, you'll never need to crank for 30 seconds. Mine wasn't working correctly. But in the diagnosing trying to figure out what was wrong, the battery took a shit. Turned out to be a broken solder joint at the crank sensor. It didn't happen in ...

I tried the 680 several times. If you have to crank for more than 30 secs forget about it.
I went back to the standard 40 lb batt. Wasn't worth weight savings

Re: Lz9 + 4 spd manual trans in 86 GT swap
Progress has been slower than slow but I got some work done the last couple of days. The front of the engine is back on, timing cover, new waterpump, and the coolant crossover at the heads as well as the lower manifold. I also painted the firewall side vc white, not sure if I'll install it but I wan...

Re: High Feature V6 Swap
Have a part number of what you're using? https://fuelsafe.com/1pla75/ From my layman's perspective I can justify the cost of the sealed nut ring but the plate and gasket are a little excessive. Hmm. I need to start writing stuff down. I did measurements on the tank along time ago and now I can't re...
