Just bring your car over. I'm confident I could fix it faster than I could explain it.

Sadistic bastard. You're just telling him that to try and make his tank heavier, already knowing he'll have to drop it.... I like it!Emc209i wrote: Put a gallon of gas in the tank to be sure.
He already put two gallons in as part of the diagnostic process.

Can you use an open channel in the PCM to log fuel pressure? I think DarkHorizon was doing this with an AC pressure channel or something... might help.

The 5R55S is used in the '05-up Mustang GT, and has proven to be surprisingly strong. In fact with proper reprogramming, the 5R55S is perfectly capable of surviving superchargers and slicks. False. NOT false. I hang out at the dragstrip, I talk to my fellow Mustang owners, whatever I'm driving on a...

Re: Another Ford WTF.
I just don't get the 4.0 SOHC. They have the front timing chain driving the cam for one bank AND driving a jackshaft to the rear of the engine which runs the timing chain ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE ENGINE for the cam on the other bank. Then they put a thin stamped sheetmetal tensioner in there that lo...

At that price, it would be nice to have a little more info, like how many pistons have kissed valves, rod knock, etc.

What's so bad about Rodney's? They don't require re-drilling. Two piece isn't bad, in fact it means that you can get a tight fit at BOTH ends of the original sleeve, as opposed to just one end with a tapered one-piece. The other nice thing about Rodney's is that the long half of the two piece start ...

Not sure what the correct section for this is, but I move we rename "Aaron's bath house" to "Pontiackid86's bath house" Since one of them got better and welds headers, while the other redefines the LCD.

Re: Best tire size for stock gt wheels?
I run 225/50s in the summer, and yes there is some gap, but who gives a shit?
You can't see a gap from behind the wheel, and I'm guessing if you're terribly worried about other people's opinion of the looks of your ride, you wouldn't be driving a Fiero in the first place.

225/50 15. Lots of don't-fuck-around autocross tires come in that size for a reason.
Additonally, they're short, which will keep your roll-out low and off-the-line grunt high.

That's not the actual trans from a W-car, that's just a picture I found that has a similar style mount boss area. I don't have any pictures of the W car transmissions, I got rid of my spare trans when I sold my trailerparkmobile (first gen W car)

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f45/mwl05equinox/P6010183.jpg I had a couple W-car Getrags that had holes down here under the cover, I happened to have some W-transes chillin' in the garage at the same time the ManTrans replacement trans for CK's car came. W body trans cases have a couple extra tapped bosses for the W-specific trans mount that I have not seen (at least in Fiero cases)

Re: Thermostat controlled engine oil cooler.
I imagine he's probably thinking about that rate of heat transfer thing, the log mean delta T or whatever. I get that in practice, a liquid can carry away a lot more heat per unit volume than water. I'd like for the oil to warm up instantly to 212F to eliminate moisture from blowby, but not really g...
