Re: '88 front wheel bearing/hub upgrade
This one won't work in the front (flange pattern on upright is too small), but is an option for the 88 rear. It uses an OEM bearing from the 2006-2009 LS4 application with the large 33 spline CV housing and the 5x115 wheel pattern (but also has room for most other patterns). http://www.fiero.com/for...

Re: '88 front wheel bearing/hub upgrade
I have looked at making some front uprights as a welded assembly. Fairly simple , but making them in a dropped configuration places the backside of the bearing housing very close to the upper ball joint mount. Knowing you want to run the C4 rear rotors, extend the plate used for the bearing mount al...

Re: '88 front wheel bearing/hub upgrade
Alternatively, find something with the 5x108 pattern and slap a set of Farrari 360 OE wheels on your car  FYI, there is a vendor (not me) who has modified the front/rear 88 wheel bearings with threaded M14 inserts at the 5 x 108 pattern so OEM Ferrari wheels and lug bolts can be used on a fie...

Re: '88 front wheel bearing/hub upgrade
An axle stub has to be added to hold the bearing together, and I'm not sure if the bolt circle exactly matches.. this seems like the easiest fix until I have time to fabricate new knuckles or spindles. The mounting bolt pattern for the Fiero rear bearing is 4.02". The 88 Front pattern is 3.74&...

Re: Adjustable Upper Control Arm for '88 Front Suspension
Here are some that a friend made for the 84-87. Simple ball joint bracket and some threaded tube with a slight bend. Not as light as what Will is suggesting, but still quite simple to make.

Were the Dorman 610-323 wheel studs not long enough or did you want something stronger?

Re: Increasing steering axis inclination on '88 front suspen
I have seen the sway bar rub the tie rods on a lowered fiero before (wrong end link length), but aside from that there really isn't anything that should be binding.

Re: Shock Valving, Spring Rates
I had Zac88GT on Old Europe run them for me based on the dimensions from Blooze's initial drawings, but modified for the lower stance.bse53 wrote:

Re: '88 upper control arm cross shaft removal
I think you have to press one of the bushing sleeves out of the control arm to remove the cross shaft. When I installed poly back in 2005, I couldn't remove the cross shaft with the sleeves in place.

Re: Shock Valving, Spring Rates
Right know I'm trying to figure out what the car is doing in compression and drop in terms of camber gain. I was using the suspension points that Bloozeberry had, but with the car lowered most of those coordinates are different. Hope to have some data soon. Brian I should have the readouts for the ...

Re: Aluminum brake master cylinder
OEM is aluminum.
Autozone lists a Fenco M2357 and specifies it as being aluminum with a weight of 3.1 lbs.

Great job!
I really like all the handling enhancements you have been working on and plan to do something similar to mine eventually.

My first recommendation is to list all the projects you would like to do or be able to do in the future. Many items on your list come in a vast array of sizes and you need to make sure your purchase will work and not need upgrading in a short period of time. I would also recommend you focus on findi...

Re: Junkyard F23 transmission and engine advice.
$15 when I last bought it, install it, problem solved. I was trying to tell people that the adapter would work on the F40 also. Nobody would listen to me. Now I see pictures of adapters that are pieced together with ugly looking solder joints. You do realize that the Thelin adapter has a soldered/b...

Re: I finally picked up my Fiero! With pics...
With the limited room within the confines of the cradle/fiero engine bay, its nearly impossible to put the axles at too severe of an angle. If it fits, nothing rubs and the tripods don't bind internally, then the axles will be fine. Many of the transmissions have the axle centerline higher/lower or ...
