Re: dura-pig? durpig?
I was able to trial the mounts, I have a little bit more work to do, and I did confirm that I will have issues with the drag link. Seen here sitting on my mounts, with a core support and fan shroud. this is with the mounts in the most forward position. https://i.imgur.com/XKwrH61l.jpg at present, th...

Re: dura-pig? durpig?
ok, so I did a few things today, and learned a few things (maybe?) Once again, I'm thinking a may need a modified drag link, I put the engine back in, but I think when I assessed that I didn't need the drag link to be modified, the engine may have been leaning back in the engine bay and therefore ad...

Re: dura-pig? durpig?
Do you feel that the energy suspension mounts that were successful in your fit check won't work? My overall concern is part life, these isolators were designed for a SBC, which is significantly lighter, and vibrates less than a typical diesel. it also doesn't typically make 500+ Ft-lbs as aggressiv...

Re: dura-pig? durpig?
The "new" SBC mounts were a very different style, and way shorter, which gained significant clearance, the unfortunate part about it, is that they also needed new frame side brackets. https://i.imgur.com/9B8WKLMl.jpg the new mounts put the isolator on the engine, and the bracket on the fra...

Re: Group buy: LZ9 Camshafts?
not that retaining VVT would be required or desired in every application. these camshafts cores would be able to be ground to almost any specs, so if someone is looking for a mild cam, retaining VVT, they can get it, if someone wanted to change the firing order, they could do that, if they wanted t...

Pics as promised, note I didn't promise good pictures... here you see the first dry fit of the engine... https://i.imgur.com/9YHuagsl.jpg in the following two pictures, you can see the problem, one side has a couple of bolts loosely installed, and the other side is off by a mile.... they're clearly ...

Re: Group buy: LZ9 Camshafts?
I thought one of the reasons LS VVT cams were on the market is for totalitarian states where mods have to stay emissions "legal". Some of that may have been related to early inability to tune VVT or difficulty getting a VVT-delete tune through emissions monitors. I thought both of those &...

Re: dura-pig? durpig?
I pulled the interior out of the front, the front seats, center console, and carpet are removed, next I need to cut the trans tunnel, and find a more or less complete "high hump" floor section so I can fit the A1000 under the floor. I did a test fit of the engine with some adapter plates t...

Re: Group buy: LZ9 Camshafts?
the cams would be ground to the end users desired specs. want 110 degrees of duration on the intake and 365 on the exhaust? go for it. want to reverse flow the heads and change the lobe order so the exhaust is now the intake? sure thing champ. VVT limitations are being looked into, with another poss...

Re: Group buy: LZ9 Camshafts?
I'm not in the camshaft business and am not trying to profit on the sale of cams through this group buy. I will need a special cam for a project I'm looking into, and said cam would not be able to be produced with a regrind, however the grinder I have reached out to is able to do it with new cores. ...

Group buy: LZ9 Camshafts?
Is there any interest here in a Group buy for LZ9 cams? I'm looking into having cores made, so far, the options I've explored put a finished cam at about $1000, but these would be a drop in camshaft, with the capability of retaining VVT.

Re: dura-pig? durpig?
I had a bunch of holes in the firewall that will no longer do anything useful, so I made some filler bits, and welded them all up. The goal was to no longer have holes, I'm not trying to make a show truck, I could have put more effort into smoothing the patches out, but most of them will be behind t...

Re: 1988 Fiero track car
Alright, so, update. First off, the initial failure in shakedown. The Coleman racing spindle failed at highway speed, the threaded portion snapped off the spindle adapter resulting in the bearings being ejected rapidly. Thankfully the large fixed porsche brake calipers prevented the wheel from esca...

Re: Splayed Valve Heads Porting
I got new valves in, and have been researching backcuts, and other possible modifications to the valves. From the small amount of research I have currently performed, it's suggested that a ~30 degree back cut on the intake makes a massive difference, on the exhaust, it's suggested not to back cut at...

Re: progress on the banshee...
the new valves got lost in the mail, tracking showed the number generated the day I purchased them, and in USPS' hands the next day, and then sat somewhere in Indiana for almost 3 weeks.... that was kinda frustrating, but also way out of my hands. this week I plan to drop the heads off at the machin...
