L67 boost bypass question

When I did my swap I ommited the bypass, and just sealed the flapper valve shut by using a bolt to hold it down. The car runs fine, and has been for sveral months. I wanted to put the BBV back on to get slightly better gas milage, and possibly remidy some part throttle KR. I install it back on, and ...

I crammed an 8" under/into my dash, it sounds great with a quality driver in there.

You could do that too, but if you have a boost gauge, you need the extra room to clear the 90 degree fitting for the vac hose. Yes it would probably work if you are running anything, but a boost gauge

hmm didn't have any problem with my revo gauges - fit just fine
The revo gauges probably didn't have thumb screws like the Autometers do, they add atleast 1/2" of depth to them. Kinda stupid on Autometers part, I would think you would want to make tham as shallow as possible.

I'm wondering how people are mounting the Autometer guages in the factory Aux pod using a flush plate? When we did the guage install, we had to use a sort of 'spacer' as the guages were too deep to fit in the pod. Just wondering how people 'massaged' things to get them to fit. For my 84, I'm consid...

Yes, the primary purpose of the exercise is to see how far the engine moves under load. Other things are secondary. However, if she gets into the gas hard enough to cause wheel hop, that could be an excuse to take your eyes off the engine.

I get my 3" flex joints thru my local NAPA. They are a real PITA to order if your Napa parts person doesn't know about them. I will be in for a fight then, because my NAPA knows CRAP about anything they sell. Hopefully the part number will show them right to what I need, I don't want to deal w...

I have used that same pump in my 3800SC swap, still going today. I got it off Ebay for that price, they are up every once in a while. That is a good price from an actual dealer for that product. I hear a lot of people saying that they are loud, I don't think so at all. My IC pump is MUCH louder than...

ok, I guess anyhting I do to the exhaust gaskets, it will just be a temp fix unless I put a flex joint in there. Does anybody know of a good 3" flex jount that is less than 6" long? I will have to try the metal gaskets from GM, my dads 3800 doesn't leak at all, but thats in an impala. Thanks

I am using the felpro gaskets, I havnt tried the stock seal ones yet. I sounds like the leaks are comming out the top of the manifolds, I just used a rubber tube to listen to them. Yes I am sing the stock crossover, and and there is no flex joint on the system. I believe this is my problem, but I do...

I HATE EXHAUST LEAKS! (3800SC)

I have replaced my exhaust manifold gaskets twice with the Flepro gaskets, and it still leaks like hell. I am not just talking about one or two leaks, but atleast 4 or so, somewhere. Does anybody know of a better way of sealing the manifold gaskets, can I use that copper spray, or is that just for h...

I have autometer 2 1/16 gauges, and they are 2 1/4 accross the bezel. Thats just using a ruler, I don't have a cliper, or I would have an exact measurment for you.

EDIT: to change the 3 1/4 to 2 1/4

I replaced my rally gauges with aftermarket ones, and my charging system wouldent work with out the bulb. I just solderd a bulb in there and threw it behind the dash in the vent. If my vent ever lights up, I will know my alternator died.

BTW I had an 86 V6

Actually pauls chart look a bit smoother too, so whats with all the hype about this new intake. Couldnt I get the same, if not better, results from just doing a ported intake and TB? So is Mosh getting that extra HP from the Truleo intake, or other mods that are not listed?

That intake does sound promising, even if it only added 15hp, to me anything that can help the 60 degree v6 is worth it. I heard N20, and I KNOW shaun knows a lot about it. So if I where to run my 3.4 as described, what kind of shot can I put on there safly. Like I said, this will not be ran at the ...

ok, I do agree with choosing the right cam now. The heads will be done by the same guy who did Oreif's heads on his 3.4. I also may consider the new Truleo intake that guy is making, because from my understanding the stock fiero intake strangles the 3.4. One more question, I know the H272 is by no m...

I drove Daves car ( I guess thats who you are talking about in Chicago), it was nice, and I cant complain about the power, but the auto just killed it. Dave also took that car to the track, I believe he ran a 14.2, but that is with the auto, I cant see why you won't run in the mid- high 13's with a ...
