that pan will bolt to the dohc block. It has the same bolt pattern.
hmm wait but it looks like the front portion wont' fit the timing cover. Different shape.
I think the DOHC timing cover is the same as like an 88 style pan, and that pan looks like a modified 85 style pan.
Think that pan will clear a halfshaft?
Also I might be down for one of those intakes but I mean $1700 for one is like what is charged normal pricing. That is no deal there. IT seems he doesnt' want to get rid of the stuff too bad because that almost seems like normal retail of what they were always asking. who knows though.

And people think that $600 for a Trueleo is expensive.Kohburn wrote:fiero owners = "thats too expensive i'll make my own, someday"donk_316 wrote:Just heard from him again.
RFRE intakes are being sold for around $1700 each. Anyone want one?
$1700 is a little more than I would have expected, but I'm not *too* surprised. I knew they couldn't be cheap, otherwise there would have been more of them floating around. Not that I'm complaining about either one.
Actually, I suspect that the Trueleo can be made (or optioned) to work just as well. I think the heads and valves are the next big intake restriction.
As I posted (I think) in the other place, I had actually considered building one of the box-type upper plenums, but really don't have the time (or more importantly, the skillz) to do it. Was thinking of a TPI 305 TB, probably facing the trunk wall. But I'm happy with what I've got, for now.

The problem with the 2p8 is the displacement, the heads, the intake manifolds, the cam, and the exahust manifolds. The Dark Side of Will wrote:On the iron head engines, the bottleneck and ultimate power limitation given absolutely free selection of intake and exhaust is definitely the heads.
The aluminum heads are MUCH better.

Is that a large journal or small journal crank?donk_316 wrote:Yeah thats kinda my plan too. I managed to strike a deal for the forged crank, deep sump oil pan, starter and another thing for $500 and shipping.Kohburn wrote:damn and i just finished talking him into a destroked 3.4 (3.1) with forged pistons and a bunch of boost
Fun thing will be getting the damn oil pan to bolt to the dohc block.

My "contact" is Ryans son. He is basically selling the whole smozzle off. Only one forged crank that he knew of. The others are just redone stockers. The Dark Side of Will wrote:And he's only got the one? Dam.
Is that what your contact has or what the entire Falconer organization has?
