A DOHC Fiero would spank a Crown Vic silly. Like totally own it.

Contrary to popular belief, police cars rarely, if ever, have any modifications done to the drivetrain. However they are ordered with the highest output factory engine so long as it is N/A and an automatic, equipped with the highest rated suspension, and then they are equipped with expensive ass tires. REALLY nice tires. That is one place the PDs do not skip out on is tires. So your's probably has the 4.6l HO V8 and a 4-speed auto with overdrive. Don't expect much in terms of performance, but it will have nice low end and the tranny should last a while. For comparison, my friend has a 1992 Cougar XR7, same drivetrain as your's most likely (4.6 HO), and my other friend's 1995 Firebird V6 auto can beat him. I think a stock Fiero would run the bumper, if not beat, your Crown Vic.

crown vics are like mid 15 second cars. A dohc would have no problem with it.

Why cant I log in here? oh well

but ya I am going to go look at this crown vic next week for sure. I have always liked them. They are nice crusers. People get the hell out of your way when they see a unmarked black crown vic behind them haha

Also looking at a turbo saab900 5speeed tomorow. I donno about that one though, they are quick, but the entire front drive thing is a turn off for me.

I thought a '92 would have a 5.0 HO?

Yeah, Crown Vics are NOT fast.

I could be wrong it might have the 5.0, I'm really not sure.

But either way, it's not going to rule the dragstrip.

You know everything ..Oh wait..no you don't

NYS Police Pkg Mustangs were 40% 5spd.. They are a rare car , but they were a T5.

Toronto metro Police has 2 unmarked 96 SS camaro , supercharged by SLP in St. Therese Quebec. They are used as pursuit cars.

FLA. State police used manual Tranny camaro's as ""lead pursuit" cars in the early 90's , all LT1 cars.
