I haven't liked the exterior appearance of the new Eclipse (or any of them, for that matter) but the interior is top notch. Mitsubishi seems to be good with that part. As the gen IIs were very nice inside as well

You don't really have any choices besides rebuilding it with cryo treated parts and making sure all the clearances are set up right.. I can't imagine there's any aftermarket with that drivetrain is there?

Yeah, that orange one at the top is exactly what I got. Only got the 17" 5 star wheels, not the 18" 7 star. And that orange interior is part of the sun 'n sound package. You get the leather and suede seats, interior colouring, 650 watt Rockford Fosgate CD player and a 10" sub. Also comes with a sunroof. The package was an extra $3500 from what I could remember. Even the ground effects were an additional $2800 installed.

Theoretically the AWD system was designed for up to 400 HP. It was used with a 5 speed in a TT V6 AWD Beretta test mule with 375 HP.

The weak link will almost certainly be the TH125 portion of the transaxle. I can help that a little bit by using the tallest chain ratio available to reduce torque through the trans, but there will be a lot of work beyond that.

Jeff at Engineered Performance has been running a hot GA Turbo with TH125 for a while and can't keep 2nd gear in it, even using an extra wide band custom made by JPT, the outfit that does transmissions for V8Archie.

Even JPT's transmissions seem hit-or-miss based on what I've heard about them on OE.

Nice looking cars. You made a good choice in color. However those pics make it look lower than it really sits from the factory

There was one of these at the rally last weekend. It looks good in person. Better than in pictures, in my opinion.

I thought they were pretty cool when they first came out but now they are just "old hat" to me now. I guess it doesn't help that they are all made about 5 miles away from me and I see them driving around everywhere. My friend went to test drive one of the v6 models and said that it was pretty quick, a lot faster than his 01 v6 eclipse.

The demo cars that I took out felt much faster than my Fiero. I read a magazine (not sure which one) and they claimed a 14.4 sec. quarter mile witha 0-60 of 5.8 seconds flat. That and the fact they are a limited slip will demolish even the quickest boat anchor powered fieros.
I still don't have mine. For $38K I would have expected better service. I asked for my deposit back and the dealer tells me it will be prepped and waiting for me monday... :knob:

Nice car.

I was getting my oil changed in my F-150 this morning. There's a mitsu dealer next door. Someone was test driving a copper colored eclipse. I really like what they did with that car.

Car prices in Canada are super high. A new SRT-4 goes for around $31k. That is way worse than the current exchange rate...

If a new SRT-4 costs $22k in the states, using the current exchange rate it should cost around $25287 Canadian dollars. I don't understand where the $5k markup comes from....
