Forgot to mention, there was no deposit made. When I put the cheque in the bank, I was allowed access to $1500 of it until the cheque cleared. If I would have spent that money, I would have been out $13k. At that point, I would have taken his ass to court.

Last I checked, a bill of sale means I no longer own the car. He could have had it inspected before he bought, but he didn't and his GM monkeys scared him enough for him to fuck me over.

I did get him to agree to refund $300 I spent on gas to deliver the car. I thought it was a pretty nice gesture to spend a whole day on my own dime to deliver the car. On the phone he asked if he could drive it back and I was honest and told him it would be a bad idea with not being tuned. I would hate for him to melt down a piston because the motor is not tuned yet.

Hey, levi, did you do anything to clean up the wiring since I was last there? He probably had the car looked over by GM techs, and expect it to be hooked up exactly like a factory caddy is. If you were to take that car into a GM dealership for a tuneup, they will probably only change 6 plugs, and look for hours trying to find the distributor. If it isnt in the book, they are lost.
Ben, you hit the nail on the head. The GM tech that looked at it when I delivered even tried to convince me that the trunk adds to structural rigidity as in for a rear end crash. Yeah right. That thin sheet metal I cut out I could bend with my bare hands.

The mechanics refused to work on it because they are responsible if anything goes wrong. Why would they want to be responsible for a total custom car?

Did your bank let you keep the $1500? You need to be compensated for your delivery costs at the very least. The US gov't pays $0.375/mile for vehicle mileage.

were the terms of sale dependent on his gm monkeys working on it?

if the condition was clear and the guy agreed to buy it then its his car and he owes you money

if you choose to allow him to renig then you are just being a sucker - er a nice guy

Even if he wins then he's still out the lawyer's share (a third?) and the car is in the hands of a dipshit who probably won't take care of it properly.

Sometimes you just have to accept the fact that life isn't fair and some people are dishonest and/or assholes, and learn from it and move on. This can be less painful and more constructive than going to extremes to prove, "I'm right and you're wrong."
Yah you're probably right. Besiseds Levi,w hen you get it done, cleaned up, and running great, it'll sell for even more.

Doug, can I return my car, the heater didn't work... :thumbleft:

The caveat I would posit is that Levi might not want an incompetent buffoon fucking around with and fucking up a car into which he's put so much time and effort.

If I were in your shoes, I'd be pissed as well, but I'd probably just try to get compensated for delivering it and be glad the car didn't fall into the hands of a fucking moron.

When I was leaving the dealership I told him if he ever wants to sell the car in the future to give me the first crack at it. I may have wanted it back in the future if I ever feel like getting back into fieros.

I am glad he does not own the car anymore. I had him refund me the $300 for the fuel I burned and I'd be happy if I never see him again.

I will probibly list the car on e-bay in a few weeks, it will sell no problem.

Hmmm, for a car that is so poorly built it sure seemed to drive home from the dealership just fine. I really like how the new isuzu slave feels.

Looks like he burned the whole tank of gas when he had it though, parked the car in my driveway and when I went to start it again there was not enough fuel in the tank to prime the fuel pump. Good thing I had some lawn mower gas laying around....
