G6 transmission
Using the 6 speed, you have to use different 1/2 shafts, yes? Is GM that cool to where the Fiero shafts fit by chance (or design)? Anyone know? If not, What shafts do you use?

Yea, that makes great sense and easy. Actually you could get the tube, cut and fit it and have it welded; yes/no??? Any special tube or just steel 1.5 times thicker wall than the stock fiero.Kohburn wrote:you have to get someone to make custom half shaft using the g6 inner joint and the fiero outter cv joint and sticking a new custom shaft int he middle. not really difficult.
that hardest part is just finding someone that will do it.
Ouch :bootyshake: . H+Just curious, why would the clutch matter for teh 1/2 shafts? The wall thickness?dratts wrote:V8Archie want $1700 for the installation kit which includes the axles. He hasn't done a N* yet, but says he's willing if he gets the dimensions of the clutch flywheel etc. The G6 uses a dual mass flywheel.

Think about Rchee's primary market... I think his flywheels use the Chevy ring gear in the Chevy location with the Fiero clutch bolt pattern.
He's got to do a whole lot of shennanigans in order to get his 17 year old flywheel design to work with the new deeper bellhousing that the G6 transmission has.
On the bright side, it does have a deep enough bellhousing for a three disk Tilton.
