i managed to free one of them up. The other two are pretty bad. Someone on Old Europe said he was gonna mail me a set for free this past monday. Not sure if he did or not and i dont really wanna bug him as not only are they free but he is even paying the shipping for me so...
Hopefuly they'l be here by this weekend and i can get 'er all figured out.

If he/she flakes out, I have a few spares on hand, also... But I'm buggering off on a trip next wednesday.
You can have 'em for cost of shipping; they worked when I last had the car running, but they MIGHT have that phantom-stalling problem. My new motor is a 95, so I upgraded anyway.

OK... got the injectors in. The car does run but it shoots to about 4K rpm and stays there. It takes a couple tries to get it started but it does start. Besides the 4K idle it seems to be making a ticking noise pretty good. If it was a SBC or something i would say a lifter....
I will try to get some videos but i dont have internet at home anymore so it prolly wont be for a few days atleast.

well i couldnt find any vacuum leaks... Only hissing i hear at all was from the T.B. I stuck my hand over the opening and the idle dropped down to about 2500 but... I do not have an EGR, I just left the plug undone and made a blockoff plate where it used to sit on the intake (yes i checked it for leaks...)
Also found another problem. I am going to try to explain it best i can hopefuly i dont confuse you'all. On the transmissoin there are two "levers" one that go "up and down" (the one that moves when you wiggle the shifter forward and backward is if to go into gear) and then one that goes "in and out" (the one that moves when you wiggle the shifter left and right. Well the piece the makes the second lever go in and out is missing. Like there is suppose to be a C clamp or something that fits around the piece on the tranny....? Point being whatever is suppose to connect the shift lever to that piece on the tranny is missing. So it will only go into a couple gears unless i maunaly push in/pull out on the shaft.

you have a huge vacuum leak somewhere. Putting your hand over the tb should kill the engine.slow'n'steady wrote:well i couldnt find any vacuum leaks... Only hissing i hear at all was from the T.B. An easy trick to help find a vacuum leak is to spray carb cleaner around gaskets and vacuum lines. The motor will stumble or idle differently for a quick second. I would plug the tb, and then spray the stuff around to help you find it. Its a huge leak, its there for sure, you just need to find it.

Sorry, i didnt mean like completely closing off the T.B. If i flatten my hand against the TB it does die. I was just pushing my hand against it and controlling the amount of air that got in... I checked every port coming off of the intake manifold and i cant find a leak at all. There isnt any hissing or anything either (except from the T.B.)
Car is for sale... $1200 w/o rims and $1800 with the rims. Also included is another DOHC engine (dismantled) and a few ECMs, Proms, brand new e-brake cables (all still in boxes)and a bunch of other stuff. It does have brand new secille calipers all the way around, new LeBaron rotors and some semi-metallic pads. Walbro 255LPH fuel pump, Thrush fiberglass packes muffler into a 40 series crossflow muffler with trans am outlets. 17" SSC chrome wheel with good tires (dont remember the brand, something ending in sumoto or some shiat) mustang scoop on the rear and 3" IROC on the front. Also will include the 1/4 window scoops i built myself by hand. If you block the tb and the car dies, then there probably aren't any vacuum leaks at least not big enough to keep it running.
Perhaps the IAC is bad, or fully open causing the high idle because its allowing a ton of air to bypass it. Thats the only thing left that would cause that high idle. I wuold look into it.

I will check into that. Every sensor on the engine is brand new though so i dont know... Thing that pisses me off is that before the oil leak (distributor delete thingy) When Erik came up here it was running "fine". It idled fine and all that good stuff so i am just tryin to figure out what the hell is different now... Gonna try the ECM i used back then and see if that makes a difference at all...
