That's a rough story. I wonder how many of those mexicans are here legally.......
A couple of things though. I'm not suprised the cop who answered the door had his hand on his gun. The call that the cop probably recieved probably to go and deal with somebody who was mentally disturbed and probably didn't have any info more. If it were me, and that's all I knew, I would proceed with caution myself. And if you were going to get transported, yeah, you are going to get patted down. No cop with any sense is just going to throw someody into to the back of their car without patting them down. It's just not safe. There have been a number of cops killed because of that reason.
But yeah, you probably should have called a cab. I'm sure the hospital would have been nicer to you as well.
As for not being able to own a gun, that's some BS right there. I know some officers who have flipped out worse than that and they still get to carry a gun at work!

Yep, but realy that's ok. I've never wanted to own a gun, and really probably shouldn't. I'm not suicidal, butif I ever lost that battle a gun is apretty decisive way to get it done. If I really wanted to I could request a hearing and fight my case that I admitted myself voluntarily and never threatened harm. But I'm not winning too many arguments these days.

We can carry rifles around all day on the street. In a car if its cased and unloaded. We're hillbillys. Every pick-up trucks got one, its standard equipment.diggitybiggity wrote:I'm applying for a gun permit at my township this week..
Handguns require permits.
I've had a concealed carry permit for 4 years now. Had to take a 12 hour class, pay $250, and wait 45 days for it.
Be careful, handgun permits are not like driver's license. They are not good in all states. The NRA website has a list of which states honor other states and vice-versa. Some states don't allowed concealed carry period!
I carry a KelTech 9mm. I love it. Only safety is the 18lb trigger.

Yeah, I've noticed my ratings climbing. I'd hate to start a trend of people going nuts to boost their green bar.
But it just kinda lame how A1(weaksauce) was SO fucking keyed up about me, he was writing letters! I had to block his PM's cuz they got to be such a drag. Now he's all bygones are bygones.
Another rhing is people that are "glad I made it through it" That like saying you're glad they survived getting their leg broken, and it's all good now. Yeah, the acute pain is subsided, but I got lot of recovery ahead of me. It;s not like I survived a car accident, this is how I am all the time, right on that trigger...
