Yup. Still reusing bolts. Gm bolts that came when I bought the flywheel years ago and using loctite red this time and washers

So I gotta post up pics and details of my clutch drama and hopefully the resolution soon. I gotta use a real computer.
Its all back together and seems to be working ok so far. I had the pressure plate modified by Tampa clutch from 1500 lbs of clamping force to 2200 lbs. For now a short video of the rocker arms in action

for all my fans on the shitcan forum.

530 whp and 437 wtq. I was reving it out to 6500 here and it was still climbing. I am on stock rod bolts so I decided to call it a day right there. People were trying to convince me to go to 7k rpm. If I was naturally aspirated I definitely would have, but at this power level and rpm I didn't trust the stock rod bolts.
Boost was hitting about 16.5 peak, and trailed off to 16 at 6500. The more I reved it, the more hp it wanted to make. I don't know where it would peak, but I am thinking between 6500 and 7k somewhere. If it was still climbing at 7k I would be shocked. If it did, it could be close to
570 whp. Crazy really.
Loose guestimation but using standard fwd of 12ish percent drivetrain loss that puts it at just under 600 crank hp, or nearly triple the factory crank rating.
This is all on a stock bottom end as well. No intercooler was hooked up, and I am running e85. it tested at e80 at dyno time. Timing was at about 10 degrees base timing. I started at 4 degrees base. I picked up about 20 hp by advancing the timing and around 30 tq or so.
I did NOT use nitrous, so there is still a bit left on the table.
I did couple runs in third gear as the clutch slipped a bit. Highest numbers in third gear was 445 whp and unsure what the tq was.
4th gear pull to 6500 yielded the highest number shown.

What's up with "Engine might be done"?
Also, do you have pics of the underside of your oil pan, especially installed? I'd like to see where it ends up relative to the engine mount tray and if it would be feasible to build a bracket from the pan to the stock Fiero mount.

having fun with clickbait titles. engine is fine.
I used my factory 88 mount. I had to trim a bit of fat off the front underside of the pan to clear the factory 88 engine bracket, as well as trim some meat from the bracket itself. it wasn't hard.
the aluminum pan has some support type fins underneath it up by the factory front mount. you just have to trim those a bit. I posted pics here before, I will see if I can find them again.

Gonna try get a pic of 88 mount on lx9 oil pan

Interesting. Were there originally 4 bolt holes on the pan?
The ubiquitous "Dodge Truck Mount" might fit in between the original mount tray and a plate bridging the (@$$umed) four bolt holes.

Use a factory mount. Why are you trying to reinvent the wheel?

Because I want to bolt it together instead of carving it up with a chainsaw.

In a little more seriousness...
My mad 2.8 TOARK j0! cracked the Storm Trooper's mount bracket where the yellow circle indicates. Admittedly, most of that damage probably happened with a blowed up rubber forward transmission mount before I installed the urethane mounts all around... However, I have heard of other people cracking them as well. The '88 Fiero brackets are also significantly thinner gauge material than the equivalent bracket from a 1990 Pontiac 6000 (or the engine mount bracket from an '84-'87 Fiero, for that matter). My gut feeling would be that, especially after the fourth mounting point was removed, that bracket wouldn't last long with
FIVE times the stock WHPs yanking on it.
How many miles did you put on this setup before you pulled it back apart?
That experience is my background for wanting to fab a 1/4" steel bracket and pick a mount that can bolt in.

Sure looks like a thinner mount would work fine.

Nice dyno run! hadn't checked into this part of the forum in quite a while.
