The Buick Rendezvous was available with both the High Value and High Feature V6's in the same year. Both engines used the same rubber mount. The 10216970 bracket shown before is for the pushrod, but there are two different versions of the bracket for the 3.6: 10334474 & 10331334. I have one of each on the way for investigation. Depending on how difficult these are to adapt to the Fiero cradle, this could be a nearly bolt-in swap for a high feature V6.

The G6(2008) was also available with both engines, not sure if the mounts are the same or not though.

These brackets do not cross to the G6. 10216970 does cross to the Pontiac Montana, though.

Re: High Feature V6 Swap
I'd have to see the bracket in reference. I was more just saying that the G6 also used the High Value and High feature engines in the same chassis.

Right, but that doesn't necessarily mean the brackets could work in a Fiero.ericjon262 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 21, 2018 7:51 pm I'd have to see the bracket in reference. I was more just saying that the G6 also used the High Value and High feature engines in the same chassis.
Going by the diagrams on www.gmpartsdirect.com (which I'm pretty sure are GM's own diagrams), the 22708433 mount looks simlar to the Fiero mount and is used in both pushrod and HFV6 G6 applications, but the mount and associated bracket are not shown on the 3.9 liter engine & trans mounting parts page. Stupid GM.
The 15224956 bracket is used with the 3.6 engine, but it's more expensive than the bracket I mentioned above. No photos on Google either.
The Chevy Malibu and Saturn Aura share the 22708433 mount with the G6.
Re: High Feature V6 Swap
Went ahead and pulled the trigger on this XTS 3.6 intermediate shaft and bracket off ebay I'd been eyeing for the last few days before I confirmed the saab bracket would not work...

Re: High Feature V6 Swap
Yeah the oil return line on the axle side lands right on one of the three bolts of the saab bracket

I saw that too and wondered if it's the same as a N*.

Re: High Feature V6 Swap
The flexplate part numbers are not the same for the STS and SRX, but that doesn't mean that the pattern isn't the same.
Re: High Feature V6 Swap
This from an XTS Vsport not SRX. I know...confusing.. but the SRX does use the LFX so essentially the same block... but the crank is forged in the XTS LF3 but probably has the same crank bolt circle.
The bolt circle diameter is approx 80mm

Differences between XTS and Saab 9-3 F40 axle intermediate axles and brackets..
Obviously a difference between axle lengths... will be temporarily mounting the saab F40, got the transmission to block bolts in, and seeing if the axle offset into the diff is appropriate to test the XTS carrier bracket and bearing onto the saab axle...
I decided to go with Cobalt SS Turbo axles with fiero outboard stubs... quite beefy but require a 1.5 to 2" offset of the engine/tranny to the passenger side

Do the bottom left (in this view) bolts in each bracket go into the "same" hole in the block?draven wrote: ↑Mon Dec 31, 2018 4:12 pm Differences between XTS and Saab 9-3 F40 axle intermediate axles and brackets..

Re: High Feature V6 Swap
yes.. however it 'looks' like I'll have to mill off a few millimeters from the XTS carrier bracket boss's to match the same offset from the block that the saab bracket provides...
Right now I'm trying to get to and remove the inboard retaining snap ring on the saab axle.. just a normal snap ring but a beotch to get to due to the bracket...

Saab 9-3 2.8L Turbo F40 Intermediate Shaft Carrier Bearing
SKF 60082RS1VP23
2015 Cadillac XTS Vsport (LF3) Intermediate Shaft Carrier Bearing
FAG KOREA F-806203 M097-2317.HB
"40mm ID" "68mm OD" "15mm width"
Can't seem to find the FAG bearing online but the SKF and Timkin are relatively easy. My SKF Saab bearing is about to go Tango Ultra so I'll be pressing the FAG bearing onto the Saab shaft and then the Saab shaft into the XTS bracket.
FYI the XTS intermediate axle mates right into the SAAB F40 however the sealing surface of the XTS shaft is about 2-4cm off...

Re: High Feature V6 Swap
Good news and bad news...
As more or less expected the Saab F40 mates up to the LF3 perfectly... need to clean it up first as it's almost white with oxidation ...pics to come...
However, the Saab F40 intermediate shaft pressed into the XTS carrier bearing and bracket is a bust.....The length, or lack thereof, of the Saab/Cobalt/Redline intermediate shaft and the depth in which is mates into the diff come up about .5-.75" short when utilizing the XTS bracket. Going to punt and go back to the saab F40 carrier bearing bracket, probably lop off as little as possible of the third hole that interferes with the oil return line and Tig a small 6160 plate contoured to the bearing housing to the same lower pickup point in the oil pan that the XTS bracket uses.
pics to come...

Re: High Feature V6 Swap
The LF3 swap is still going... I had to finish up the LQ1 I started years ago to get it sold, make room for incoming parts on the shelves, free up an engine stand, and get some more room in the garage....
