Good deal. For what you get, the price isn't too bad... Considering Archee's costs about the same, and this will probably outcool it and be lighter. I'm hoping to find something less than $250, that drops in or with minimal work, doesn't require being angled back or stick out 1" above the road... Haven't found it yet... I'll keep looking,

Amazon.com Radiator

Cheap, stock height so you don't have to angle it.......but..... it's 3" wider than stock. I think max you can go is about 2" without having to take out metal. It would probably require cutting the frame, and boxing it back in on either side. :(

I've got a 4-core in my car. It's not from A.rchie, it originally came from somewhere in the SE US. I thought it was an off the shelf unit, but maybe not.

It's a bit bigger width-wise, but it still dropped right in. It didn't weigh much more than a stock fiero radiator. I'm guessing maybe 5 to 7 lbs or so. Nothing that removing the overflow can won't make negligible.

There's a pic of it floating around the site somewhere. If someone needs pics, let me know.

Working on it. They kinda went bankrupt and getting through to someone in sales has proven to be difficult. If someone has some free time, their number is 1-800-722-3723.

I'm surprised they even list the fiero, that's like... an acknoledgement we exist. I'll try to get ahold of them tomorrow.

Thanks for the catch! It has been corrected. I work 10-11 hour days and don't have much free time to sit on hold....

Anytime I call my school I end up being put on hold... Sometimes for hours, so I'm used to it.

Haha... no! :cussing:

At any rate, I have 2 or 3 leads, so hopefully I'll find something soon. It would be nice to drive to Daytona without worrying about overheating.

Griffin is $334 + 20 shipping... Customer service is lackluster... First time I called they said the radiator didn't exist. Second time I called I got a new person who sounded like he hated the world, but got me the price.

You hope. I'll keep this in mind for when I need a bigger radiator though. Nice to know there's one out there that stands a very good chance of dropping in.

Tomorrow I'm going to call local radiator repair shops to see if they're up to the task of cutting down the height of one of these radiators to 16"...

Even if it costs $100 to have them weld it back up, it would be cheaper...

That's for the Pro - good to "400hp"... probably good to 500+hp. btw, someone on the other forum said that Ron Davis Radiators might have a cheaper model with "standard chevy" in/outlets. The quote I got from them was apparently for 1 3/8" in/outlets. Once they get back to me, I'll let everyone know, but obviously a custom unit is going to run more than the standard unit... If they can get it down to $240, I'll probably go with them vs cutting up and rewelding the cheap aluminum radiator from speedway.

SUCCESS!

Ron Davis radiator #1A-24163 with standard chevy in/outlets, (1.5" inlet, 1.75" outlet) is $239 + 35 (aproximate) shipping.

I probably need new hoses anyways, so that looks like a pretty good deal.

I probably will. I'm debating whether it's smart to install it so close to daytona though... I'd hate to have to miss it because I couldn't get an air bubble out or something. Right now it ain't broke, and I've made longer trips without overheating.......

Plus I still have to tune my short runner intake.
