I was wondering about the feasibility of this. I have a GT turbo with the floating journal bearing center section. It's a big mofo, and ball-bearings are something cool to brag about, and they even help performance too! I want that thing to spool before I start the car up!
Ummm...anyway...How much of a pain might it be to swap in a ball-bearing center section? I've searched the net and can't really find much about doing it, so it's probably not done very often. I know I would have to have it re-balanced, what else might be an issue? I've been searching through the Garrett specs trying to find out if they use the same shaft, but haven't found anything there either.
