I am from MN so a friendly "donchaKnow" to you!
Anyways, I bought a set of knock-offs from a scam artist in FL years ago and there were some minor fitment issues with them and when I posted if anyone else had these same problems I remember getting 3 responses on fiero.com about how they bought the real ones from V8Archie himself and had spent up to an average of 5 hours just fixing the problems with it - fiberglassing, cutting, making them fit better, etc... So good luck finding a better set

I've been building kit cars, doing body kits, and just about anything that was made of fiberglass for the last 37 years now. There are very few fiberglass craftsmen left here in the U.S. Add to that the current "state of the art" in fiberglass work... Most molds are getting older and show signs of flex which makes for innacurately fitting parts. Some piece are created in separate smaller molds then "flashed" (fancy name for glued with glass) together to form the larger part. Sandable gel coats are another problem. After mold release butter is applied guys hose this stuff on, some of it is picked up in the gel coat and poof! instant pinholes, craters, etc.
The last full sized kit truck I built had over 20 running feet of flash seams that I had to die grind open and re-resin and matt. One side of the the rear bed was 2 inches too wide and had to be relief cut and re-glassed. Pinholes??? I had to take a dental pick and push on every square inch of the body to open them up and fill them. It has been such a problem on most kits that I now use a sprayable polyester body filler which coats everything so I don't miss any stuff.
I saw a fiberglass hood at a local speed shop, $350. It had a diagonal warp in it, pinholes, and I saw a two cracks and a starred area in the gel coat. And you wonder why those rockers don't fit??? Sorry, for the rant but I just think most of this stuff is poorly made, no matter where it comes from.

friend of mine bought a set directly from V8Archie... V8Archie swore up and down they fit with no issues and were basically bolt on.
Jeff ended up sending them back after a huge battle with V8Archie .. I saw them in person as I wanted to get a set
Absolute Junk.. No wonder the guy goes bankrupt on a yearly basis.

When was this? Must have been a few years ago. The quality of the glass and how it is laid is fine, as of up to mid 2006. Although the fitment has always been an issue, thats due to the molds. I dont think they were done correctly in the first place.

Why not send it back to him and tell him to do it right at his expense of course. You paid a bunch of money. You deserve to have quality work done.FGT wrote:I had this issue too with the part that leans on the inner door frame. It had 1/2" + gap. I contacted V8A about it (2007), he never heard of the problem. I was thinking it might be due to my '88. Then I found out I was not the only one. He was very helpful and replace them for the Mad-Arch widebody rockers (@ extra cost). Since I got my Fiero w/ the widebody installed from V8A (April '08) I notice a gap of 1/4" to 1/8". I'm going to have to pay some one to fix them right.

If he charges $10/hr, 47 hours sounds fair to me.... heh :thumbleft:
All I know is that if any of his/their/whomever does their work is like my fiberglass battery box, stay away! It was warped and wasn't cut straight... But I don't have a show car, so I don't care. Norm's stuff looks pretty good as far as quality, but he didn't sell just the battery box at last check.

YOU will soon be labeled a troll and don't be surprised if you are banned soon. That is if you post the same thing on poopcocks as you do here.FGT wrote:[
I'm not happy after paying aprox $17k in labor. His customer service skills are extreamly poor.
Don't be afraid, just do it, if he does shitty work and not how you want it, then other potential customers need to know!!!!!!!!
