For sale

I actually fired up the car and drove it yesterday for the first time in 1.5 years (bad clutch).

Motor comes with car, located in CT.

the car needs a lot of work, its a red 86 se notchback. swapped from auto to manual (izusu 5spd)

The car isnt worth anything really because junky fieros that arnt mint are a dime a dozen. this posting is for the motor, which just happens to be bolted into the car.

This is the only running prototype aluminum 2.8 from the turbo fiero project. I have not confirmed if the turbo fiero in the heritage center has the aluminum motor, or if they slapped it on a cast block.

You want a piece of fiero history, come get it.

I dont have time to seperate so your stuck with the car.

Starting at $3000. dont offer any less. I dont need the money or need to get rid of the car. I want to keep it but I dont have time to fix it up properly. This is a limited time insanity offer, and I probalby will not offer the motor for sale again. Its not like it can be replaced or duplicated.

there is another block and set of heads floating around. good luck finding the heads and putting the two back together (you will need custom iron coated piston skirts).

PM with your offer.

Have no desire to buy it, but do you have picture of the motor?

I was the one that originally had the other block, heads and intake...

Blocked looked a wee bit different

I got $1500 for it, $700 for the heads and $600 for the intake.

Still have tons of pics of the block.. just lack the ability to care

I paid $300 for all of it.

GL with the sale.

P.S: I know where there are 2 more.. of the total 10 made.

Thousands of blocks were made, and the intake you had was a custom piece for testing, and was not intended for production. The stock fiero intake is the one the cars came with. That intake was formed for this motor to place the turbo as close to the valve as possible. They scrapped the whole project and we all got screwed with the intake. I paid $500 for my setup. I'm not hiding that. I linked to where I posted how much I paid.

I offered this to a member for free at one point becuase I thought it would get done justice.

no longer for sale

I can find out about the 2 blocks, and yes shaun..heads I know about.

There were NOT 1000's of blocks made according to the GM engineer whom shaun and I got the original ones from. He still has a set of big valve 60 degree heads under his desk and won't let them go. He still has 1 setup in a Manta with a turbo kit on it.

working in GM HQ (I work for GMAC) , and having access to archives on line (like GM people find) helps.....

Just haven't had a ton of time latley withthe GRM car and work ..

gotta get the fiero goin.

Back for sale, Midget racing is really cramping my time to work on project cars.

P.S. a quad 4 midget is way cooler than a fiero.
