BTW, I checked the torque spec in an 86 fiero service manual and it said 12 ft / lbs. Hopefully its the same as an 88 fiero. That doesn't seen very much...

Is this suppose to be done with the suspension unloaded??

Thanks...

The torque on a sway bar end link is not that critical. I dont have an 88 manual or I would give you the numbers. use 12.

Remember that you're compressing bushings. 12 ftlbs would actually put a LOT of squeeze on the end links bushings, BUT the bolts runs out of threads first. The length of the bolt/spacer combo is such that the nut runs down to the end of its threads on the bolt when the bushings are appropriately compressed.

I would contact whoever made the poly, I would think how much you're squishing the poly is the critical element, not whatever Pontiac deemed their rubber and bolts to be rated for.

88s have polyurethane swaybar endlink bushings from the factory, and they're about the same hardness as the aftermarket stuff. It should be about the same torque as the factory specifies.
