Aaron got his ass beat in a debate, and will man up to it!

As I'm sure you guys have gotten by now, I am pretty good at arguing/debating. I have been like this ever since I can remember, I can pretty much argue a lot of things very well, even when knowing very little about them (Politics is an exception, you need knowledge to argue that). But a lot of subjects you can bullshit your way through. I really enjoy this, and it is a great hobby of mine. I'm taking a 3000 level debate class next semester and can't wait. Well, turns out, this fat kid who beat me took the course last semester. He is a pretty cool guy, and he invited me to a debate session they are having voer the War in Iraq next week, so I'm gonna start preparing. I'm working with him to argue that the Iraqi War is bad (Not my personal feeling, but I didn't have the choice).

Anyways, I went into my Sociology debate today, and I met my match. He beat me. I held my own against him, and countered him very well, but he simply had the facts to back his claims up. And I couldn't find a whole in his research. It was put together very well. Fortunately his partners weren't very good, and I caught them saying two differnet things on more than one occasion.

I beleive if I went head to head with this guy in a topic in which we were both knowledged, and neither had the moral advantage, it'd be damn close. Stupid fat kids...lol

I would have beaten him if I had his side to the story. The topic was "Immigration is harmful to American society and the American way of life." I was affirmative, he was negative. So I had to argue that every single foreigner that steps foot on our land is bad...Yah, not an easy task...

My points were these:
+Terrorism-Of the 19 terrorists in 9-11-01, all 19 were legal residents of the US. By current laws, 18 should have been denied their Visa. Incredibly, in answer to the question "US Destination:" on his Visa application, one terrorist put "No." His US destination was no. Even more incredible, he got a Visa.
+Economy-Foreigners will work harder, for longer hours, and less pay. Thereby they take American jobs. Illegal immigrants also take advantage of every tax-supported service we have to offer, to include emergency services, education, and military.
+Education-Only 20% of immigrants have a high school education. He argued that of these, the rate for collegiate educations is about double of Americans, and 4x for a PHd education. I went on with the non-English speaking problem, and got him back after he owned me on the college thing.
+Crime-I made a graph showing a random 8 states with the highest and lowest immigration rates, and their respected crime rates. By the numbers, the states with higher immigration have higher violent crime rates. Unfortunately, he got me again with this, saying simply "Just because crime is higher doesn't mean the immigrants are the ones doing it. White people can shoot up a bank to ya know." To this I couldn't say much, other than the states with the highest immigration rates also have the highest rates of violent crime, and visa versa for the states with the lower immigration rates. Draw your own conclusions.

So basically, I held my own after starting out on the very bad end of the stick, but I still got beat. But the other guy was definately surprised when someone who could actually argue stepped up...hehe...As for my other group members, they didn't do much more than some research, they pretty much kept their mouth closed as I was afriad they would say "Good point," which would ensure our loss.

Well I was thnking about this myself before I came in here. One of my hobbies is anagrams. For those of lower intellect (HI Aaron!), basically you rearrange the letters of something to make them say something else. A good challenge is taking the letters in a person's name to make a description of that person. Aaron, with so many a's and no e's, you were a challenge. But I think I have come up with a good one.

Aaron posts like an old west gunsliunger looking for a fight. First he selects a target like Ben, me, or Tony, the he starts spouting off at the mouth waiting for us to contradict his 'infallable' logic. Then when we do, he gets even more pissed off and starts saying even dumber stuff. So Aaron, this is for you.

Not married, and I don't date fat girls (I'm EXTREMELY picky on girl's weight). And the girls generally aren't nasty, except the one that gave me my first few BJs. Well, yiu marry some little hottie and all is good, drop a kid or two and she now has the fuzzy nuts in that she can all of your expendable income for the next 15-20 years.
