1994 RS America , B&B headers, 40% LSD , Mpotec Chip , Coilovers , Koni's , Adjustable bars #001 of 80 made in 1994 it was the car used in roadtest by C&D and motortrend , somehow it made it's way to Canada.

The Plastic LS1 is for a 66 Corvair V8 we have. The corvair uses a tranny that turns reverse from a normal engine..so long story short , we are ditcvhing the 4.0ltr (use to be a 215 Cu in) all aluminum V8 from an olds thats rear mountedint he car for an LS1 connected to a 930 Porsche tranny. We have the tranny all rebuilt , just waiting for the adaptor from kennedy engineering

more pics tonight.

Sounds like a pretty rare car! Any guesses on power output? Is it like a single turbo 3.0 H6 or what?

Nice car.

I was talking to the machine shop I go to about my aluminum block, and they were telling me about an olds all aluminum engine v8 they had done in a fiero. It was an scca car back in the day, no idea what became of it.

Cant wait to see the rest of the pics.

They are rare cars. They're basically a stripper 911 for '93 and '94 only. They were cheaper at the time but now bring more because of their rarity. They're naturally aspirated 3.6 liter, 250hp, opposed 6.

WoW, that engine is HUGE. I never realized how big it is. Good thing is all aluminum, dont add too much weight. GM should have done the 3.4 DOHC all aluminum too, but its Gm so WTF.

Good luck in your swap, that engine looks very attractive for mods.

I agree, but looking at their reasoning I can see why they didn't.

The engine mounts held up fine this summer , but I didn't like them , so We re-engineered them and re-welded everything. I had a failure on the highway when the Waterpump belt cut through the engine harness splitting only 1 wire , but it took forever to find it (1 week down) so I am rerouting all the harness so it's safe . Also the coolant pipes. We devised a way today that the lines to the heater core are less than 5" in length they bolt right to a bulkhead on the firewall..nice and clean..they used to loop around and go behind the valvecover... Just a cleaner install.

We cleaned and repainted the cradle today and the tranny.. Powdercoated a few little things. Im not a concours guy , I I want it to be clean and I want to be able to beat on it and not worry about the quality of work. I would be pissed that if someone that broke was a part I made or modified...if and when the tranny or clutch goes , no biggie..I didn't make those (haha)

One major project of today was to modify the trunk> most guys cut it out. We cut the wall facing the engine completley out and made a new one , in the process moving it 4 inches forward so I have a useable trunk and it clears the exhaust. I will post up pics tomorrow. I have true 2.5" duals and resonators the exhaust is a work of art and I would rather change the trunk slightly than cut it out , or change the exhaust. The new trunk looks factory...even used seam sealer so that if someone looks in under the carpet they won't notice the difference.

Excellent! I am planning a similar trunk mod. I intend to completely cut out the trunk and replace it with the largest piece possible.. but rather than sheet steel like you used I will use fiberglass and make it removable (for the track and working on the motor).
Did you already have part of the trunk cut out for your exhaust so you were making up for that loss or do you now have a larger than factory trunk?

Funny, I plan to cut out the trunk, period.

Hehehe, I'd acutally like to do what you did, make it larger, but with my plans changing by the day it makes it kind of hard. But sooner or later I'll find a setup that I like, and can leave it be...

My trunk is smaller , not bigger. Engine is all back ont he cradle and ready to go , the trunk is all welded (tacked) in place and seam sealed so it looks factory.. Motor back in tomorrow morning and off we go.

pics later..been busy.
