And where can I put it in my Fiero, other than behind the seats?

center console?

Or you could squeeze it under the dash... it would have to be a small enclosure, and you'd have to cut some material for the grill probably...

Moulded fiberglass bandpass enclosure in the front compartment FTW! :thumbleft:

You could make a custom footwell enclosure for the passenger-side. I don't know what kind of sub you have, but there's not alot of square footage, but if you get one designed for small enclosures and load it up with poly-fill, you can get some decent sound.

I've done the footwell enclosure before. It's an OK solution, but it has a few gotchas:

-You have to worry about getting a strong enough grille so your passenger doesn't stave the cone in,

-Anyone can peek in and see what's making the noise. It's EASY to steal.

-After you've gotten the strong enough grille, the main problem with having a sub push air in the sound-space of the car is that you get a LOT of noise past the cover. In a trunk or behind the seats, it's muffled and you don't hear it. In the car, right in front of you, you can hear it quite clearly.

-The footwell gives you about 0.5-0.6Ft^3, which is a hair small for most 10" woofers. This makes the bass response a bit peaky, and it won't sound nearly as good as a box made to match the woofer. That said, there are a number of small volume woofers that would work... But they tend to be very expensive.

I've got an 8" hidden under the dash... Sounds like ass, but then again it was a $20 sub that probably needed 4x the volume that it has... hah. Bass is decent, compared to none at all

who had sone this before? I was originally going to put my 2) 10"s behind the seats, but i REALLY hate the idea of cutting away a bunch of metal!! just curious how to go about doing it as there is a ton of stuff under the front, so i assume that would all have to be taken out...

info would be much appreciated!

Way I figure it, you have the outlet ports of the bandpass cross the front firewall.

The box itself would sit where the spare tire sits, and be moulded in there. Where the radiator would actually go is up to you. I would recommend having it port to near or at foot-level, so that it doesn't rattle all the dashboard stuff.

I drew up plans to do one, but got distracted by an engine swap. :thumbleft:

MAke it trick, and port it through the vents on the dash, that would be cool, but alot of work.

I already have 6X9's in my dash, maybe I will just hook up an amplifier to them, or get better 6X9's.

Wrong answer. Low frequency sound isn't stopped by much, and my 10" subs are quite loud and not muffled.

I think he meant the noise from the cover

Yep, cover noise. Unless you like that whistling sound.

I can show you how I was going to go about it, but I had it tuned specifically for my woofer.

Tell you what, either post here or PM me the T/S specs on your woofer, and I'll run the math.

What kind of music do you listen to?

hey crzyone , got any plans as to how you did that precisley? ... i've got 2 10"s sitting here with an amp i bought off a dude at work for $120... the two JL audio 10"s will be more than enough for me bass wise. i just need plans for how to mount into the firewall...
