code 32 today.........EGR

Well today i was enjoying the weather and some company from some old guy in a new corvette, he liked pulling right up to where his exhaust was at my door and sitting there.

Anyways.... light comes on, but no driveability problems, so I take my time and pull over when I get the chance. Read the codes and get a code 32 which is egr vacume leak. Hmm, I only have two vacume lines hooked up to the selenoid one to the egr, and one to the upper intake. The third I believe is supposed to go to the air filter canister?

This is the first time I have had this problem, and im not terribly concerned with this as I could give a shit if my egr existed or not. I replaced the flexible egr tube once before because of a vacume leak, and its not idling terribly high right now, so I think its one of the 20 yr old plastic lines, or rubber fittings.

No real questions, I just dont want anyone thinking my car never breaks :thumbleft:

I think we figured that out when you told us that it isn't reliable enough for a 2 hour drive.

Most likely its teh solenoid itself that is bad. No egr? Oh darn. Mine comes on all the time. I have no leaks anywhere mind you. Its my bet that my solenoid is bad but at he cost of a new one its not worth fixing. Get a chip with the egr code deleted and not have to worry about it ever again.

People say you need it or you will burn pistons. BS. I didnt' even have one with my WCF headers and didnt' have any problems. No burned pistons and no ill effects. Was even able to get 32 mpg on the highway with no egr.

And I thought the egr was a code 32. huh

I agree. I don't have EGR on my 3.4 Fiero, and got 34mpg highway..

He said himself that his car is not reliable enough for a 2 hour drive, I just retyped it.

its the solenoid - you can dismantle it and clean it real well if you want - or you can just remove it from the ecm code

I said that I was not gonna drive 2 hrs to epping and beat on my car at the track because thats an expensive tow home, and a long ride with a tow truck driver who is PISSED he isnt at home with his family. That weekend after I posted that I did like I said and made the trip to kick hill, after going to the warwick show.

The car will go 2 hrs no problem, Im not going to risk BREAKING IT AT THE TRACK 2 hrs from home. Get it straight you MORON.

Sorry, so after a 2 hour drive, you can't floor it through a couple gears. Sounds unreliable to me.

yet arod, after the first time your interior got soaked because you left the sunroof off, you did it again. Your brain sounds unreliable to me.

Oh and where is my money?

I did do it again. I've yet to see any negative results, and my seats are dry already.

What money? You havn't found me a dyno, scheduled me a time, and paid for it yet.

Take some repsonsibility. I never said I was going to find you one, I also never said I was going to pay for it. Grow a fucking pair and do something yourself.

And if you haven't found a dyno yet you haven't been looking. Also I am still waiting for you to find numerous SLp cars that dyno 330+ whp stock. You still haven't done that yet. Loser

Well I said pretty clearly that I wasn't going to find one, so unless you do, I'm not dynoeing it yet.
