well , im sorry to say I dont ever want to drive that again..
Its a squeaky rattle trap, that blows hot air down the back of your neck, whilst it pulls like a tractor. the shift points in it are WAY off , and it doesnt even compare to a slightly modded 3800 SC SII motor.
the response is like waiting for a retard, and then the mad torqzorz kicks in and you barely get a kick in the pants. off the line its horrendus i think it starts in second gear with the tq conv locked for god sake. the motors got potential but it needs tuning. the car was bought by tony from i beleive falcon fiero in colorado. its beautiful but, i do not like the ride AT ALL.

First mistake is that its an auto. Whipped can make a harness and flash a 7730 to make that car way more drivable. Maybe even paddle shifters
There is no reason that car should be that bad. Sounds like its in limp home mode if its starting out in 2nd gear. Obviously running the stock pcm which is acting like a chicken with its head cut off.

I find ti hard to beleive that it is starting off in second gear unless something is wrong.
Chris who did that swap and build, took tht car to the track and ran mid 13's I think with it. I doubt it could do that if it started in second gear.

Since I ran 12.8's at 106 in my stickshift car, an auto car 200# heavier should be able to run 13 flat. It wouldn't be hard to save 100# in the driver's seat compared to my car and it might even be able to crack 12's. So I would say *mid* 13's is NOT living up to the Northstar's potential.

It's really easy to build a Northstar car that doesn't run right.

the thing i think i hated the most was having people ogle the car and having to say "oh yea this is my friends car"... he bought it like this.
i much rather like being able to take the 88 GT out , with the entire powdercoated underside and go "yea thats the car i built for this guy." its got this and this.. and this is planned.
having a fucking car that was bought like that makes me feel like such a tool at a show.

Was that Mr Fieros car? Built by Chris Moore? I almost bought it once. I always had the feeling that there was something wrong. He said he wanted to sell it so that he could get a bugeye Sprite I think. That didn't make any sense to me. I have a 55 Healy with a 302 set way back in the frame, now that makes more sense to me.

Naaah. I believe he had the Sprite before he sold the 'vert.
I think he sold the 'vert to try to keep his business (a restaurant) afloat.
BTW... Here's a link to his dyno. 240/252. I was there when he made this pull. It certainly wasn't running
too terribly.

There was nothing wrong with the car when he sold it to mrfiero.
Mrfiero dynoed it later on at 240 whp. Meaning the car was running just fine. No clue what it makes now after he owned it. From what I heard, he did a number or two on it and not in a good way.
