Re: High Feature V6 Swap
Not being able to adjust the frequency on the Eastwood unit would be damn frustrating trying to go to lap joints. I found lowering the frequency and running a little more tungsten stick out worked great to control the heat and get an even burn in on the plates. Someone more experienced will need to ...

Re: Twin turbo LQ1....
Fabrication isn't an issue. It is my favorite part. That said, I just scored a used GTX3076R that just needs seals for $300! No shaft play and perfect shape impeller and exducer wheels and no physical damage to be found. Parts for rebuild set me back $50 and even if I just replace both outer halves ...

Super aware of the 3076r and such. Just looking to possibly use what is on hand as a challenge.

Re: Twin turbo LQ1....
I thought I read they spun in opposite directions to facilitate piping efficiently.
As for fitment, I have some ideas in mind....

Twin turbo LQ1....
So I have been planning around a single GT3076R turbo for my build but now have the possibility of two TD04 turbos off of an LF3/4 and just can't seem to find a set of maps for these turbos to see how they look with my expected flow numbers. I have a decent idea for the plumbing but wanted to see wh...

I almost bought one while I was at summit the other day....
I was thinking of making a hole and leaving the baffle in place just to be sure.

Not sure the weight but when you take with wing off it all but jumps up! I will need to remove my deck soon and can weigh it for a rough number.

Re: Let the madness begin
So I spent the last two days stripping a 95 LQ1 from a cutless supreme convertible at a pull a part. I must say I understand why mechanics hated working on these things! Had to take off the heads and remove the radiator and fans just to get the damn exhaust manifolds! That said I got the coil packs,...

Re: Let the madness begin
Been a couple good hours of porting. Intakes are cleaned up, port/gasket matched, and the short radius are now opened up a little bit. Will hit them a bit with the 80 grit cones before I am done but no more. I want to keep good tumble happening there. Also knife-edged the dividers. The exhaust sides...

Re: High Feature V6 Swap
Are we making new mounts?
But really, if that is the route I am happy to jump back in as needed.
Would certainly be a good plan for making the spool near instant like stock.

Re: Let the madness begin
Ya, that is a long build out for phase one. Will keep a really simple version of this there but they tend to stick with OHV stuff and are very knowledgeable at keeping mostly stock fieros running great. The heavy technical end of high performance isn't their forte. Getting ready to go start some por...

Re: Let the madness begin
Already have my tri-metal clevit bearings in hand. As for the spherical, I am not sure it's something I need right at the moment. All my photos are being flagged as too large. Means I will have to hyperlink them in which means sitting down at the computer. Will be a lot more often I post words than ...

Let the madness begin
So I purchased my 88 Formula with a fastback from the Georgia Fiero club a bit over a year ago. It had a hoped up 3.1 bored .060 over. It ran well and was quick. Had the five speed I wanted and all the right bones. Was primer grey and the interior was okay. I tracked all of my tinkerings and upgrade...
