I also have another question. not really motor related. Does everyone use the 88 cradle just to get the 88 suspension? I'm assuming it would be possible to just use my '85 2m4 as the donor car correct?

That 3.4 motor would work. Just swap it in. If the car was a 4 banger originally it will be a bit more work then if it already had the 6.

yes you can use your 85 as the donor car. That doesnt' matter.

yeah, your cradle is fine. i used my stock '87 for my DOHC swap.
