yeah a lot of gun oil is not rubber compatible - a lot of people just use ATF in their guns, the best bet is air tool oil. since the paintgun is basicly an airtool.

as for the fore-grip, that one isn't an expansion chamber just a gas through grip... I've never been shot in the left hand that hold the fore-grip. I preffer it for stability and manueverability. maybe you don't but that doesn't make it wrong.

you sound like the v8archie of the paintball world :la:

there are a few simple things to do to a spyder to make it last longer and be more reliable, and one is to take a rouge cotton wheel to the internals to polish them. also add a drop or two of oil to the internals after every game day.
Ok, so help me for a second here.

That valve under the barrel (the big silver thing) can be 100% tightened since I am using a compressed air tank?

what your gonna need is a bottle of 3 in 1 oil from any paintball shop. A few assorted orings, which you can probably get in a kit, some bassic tools such as allen wrenches, and a good PULL THROUGH squeegee. Lots of junk squeegees out there. A clean barrel shoots striaght, a wet barrel will hook the balls. You will need to keep tools and orings in a Plano fishing box, with some rags. Get some No fog spray for your goggles, and in a pinch you can spit in them and rub the spit around to prevent fogging. Most new masks wont fog though.

Get a cup, and dont play without it. I used a 3 pod pack in the front to protect my balls and it took plenty of shots. Get some spare 9v batteries for your hopper.

that should get you going, and keep you going. after each game, your adrenaline will be wearing off, and you will be tired, but its the best time to tear your gun down, clean and assemble it. Or go drinking, whatever you choose.

yes 100% tight, its just a hollow tube, does nothing but hold volume. Behind that is a valve that has a pintle that controls the flow of the air to your chamber, that is what you will need to get access to. There are seals on it that *used to fail all the time* I havent seen the guts of a spyder that was made in the last 6 years.

sucess will come with experiance. your speed, and your guns acuracy are the most important, but how comfortable you are with your gun will make all the difference. Try not to switch guns until your other skills are honed.

It is an addictive "sport" or "game" whatever you wanna call it. I actually just sold 4 of my guns to the local PB shop (Edge Paintball). Now im left with my Cocker and my JT 3.5 for a "back up" then i have an old Rebel Extreme i cant throw away for some reason. Havent touched it in years but for some reason i let it sit in my closet still...

I plan to go out here soon. I have to get the gun drilled for eyes. I am stuck on about 10-12 BPS at the moment as i have no eyes. Once they get on there i should see close to 20BPS  still much better than my backup gun that shoots like 2-3BPS :thumbleft:

Why would you need to go through so many paintballs? That just really seems crazy... my gun is shooting probably 5 or 6 balls a second, and that was a lot of paint.

this coming from the guy whos only technical advice on the forum refers to how to use anal beads.

If your playing speedball, you back players need to lay down a lot of paint to keep the opposing teams front and mid players from advancing. most good players wont give you the time to see, react and get your paint to them on a move. So you have to cover the holes and anticipate their moves. Thats the real reason you need 20 bps.

The reason they anodize, polish, caress and make love to their uber fast guns is because of their small penises. Take Mizer for example, look how pissed he gets when you tease him about his penis.

don't need eyes to hit 20bps if you have a fast enough power feeder. (q-loader or warp feed)

love a good cocker. if it wasn't for the restriction to compressed air only then i might have picked up a used Ion for 180$.. they are pretty nice for the money. but I can't give up my freedom of refilling my own tanks

Simply buy some scuba tanks at the local scuba shop. Used ones are normally cheap. you have to cascade them, so 3 is good. 2 will work, and 1 will only do if you plan on filling it before each event.

Not sure where you live, maybee there are no scuba shops there.
