Yea, you're right... My tank must have at least 1k to fire, but I'm not sure what the regulator is set to.p8ntman442 wrote:Hmm, you suire on that? Im pretty sure your tanks regulator is set around 850 psiDiggityBiggity wrote:800?? That's low... under 1000 my gun won't work
Under 1k on the tank gauge and your gun wont fire maybee. But it should.
3000psi -4500 psi on compressed air cylinders.
yes that is about the standard pressure of co2. and a 20oz tank holds 20oz of liquid co2.The Dark Side of Will wrote:800 psi?
the high pressure air tanks don't hold liquid so they need to either use higher pressures or larger tanks to do the same work. they go up to 5000 psi for tank pressures but most are only 3000 . thats just the stored pressure. they have a built in regulator that is only supposed to let out 800-850psi the guage on the tank should read the pressure inside the tank like a fuel gauge. if it drops down to about 1000psi on a gun that functions on 800 then it won't work well.
so biggity. think of the gauge on the tank as more of a fuel gauge. if you have a gauge after the regulator then it will indicate the acual operating pressure of the gun. Mine is modified to run low pressure and can run as low as 240psi. but i usually run it at about 400.

ported internally to get the velocity up to par with a full size paintgun, 280fps, stock they were only 200fps.
then replaced the small 12gram co2 system with 3.5oz co2 tanks that are good for about 300 round each.
yes i have an addition... to moding.
I mod my cars, my house, my paintbal gear, my mountain bike, my tools, etc. I even sewed my own realtree camo podpacks.

thats always good to have 30 times the air than you do paint. Lil overkill bud?Kohburn wrote: then replaced the small 12gram co2 system with 3.5oz co2 tanks that are good for about 300 round each.
.
Back when I played with my tippman prolite, which was sophmore year in highschool (1999) I developed a 90* air adapter that put the tank vertical at the bottom of the handle. You should try that with your guns. and go back to 12 grams, it would look like a long clip. Or you could 90* out under the barrel where the qucik disconnect hose goes into the valve body, that way it looks like a tactical firearm with a flashlight under the muzzle.
either one can be done with some simple fittings.
Just ideas.

The way im thinking is that its a backup setup so if he breaks a ball at a bad time, like someone running the tape, he goes for the pistol. I wouldnt consider using those in play except in "rock and cock" pump games, or as an emergency backup. That being said, as a sidearm your not gonna need more air than paint, and you want as little bulk as possible.
nothing wrong with the econonmy of the 3.5's, but I see these as more of a show piece where the 12 gram could be made to look real nice.

the dual pistols is a primary setup - though i can use one as a secondary to my spyder during scenarios.
when I get time i'm going to finish rigging up the quick hands free reloader for the spring mags. all it will require is sliding the spring knob back on the magazine which can be done against clothing while holding the gun, then jamming a short vertical tube (that will be added to the magazine) into a custom podcap. pull out and bump the spring knob again and its ready to fire. whole process will take about 2 seconds to reload while maintaining the advantage of extreme compactness and light weight.
when you only have 10-20 rounds between reloads it does change your style of play though. it makes you become a better player out of necessity. plus its a lot of fun. got a headshot just last monday.

no - even if i was only refillign with 10 round tubes. it requires refilling both paint and co2 on the field in the middle of combat. lot easier to only refill paint. its not a lot different than my main gun either. a 20oz tank will last me up to a full case of 2000 rounds, and the q-loader is basicly a 100round magazie. so the gun has 20 times as much air as paint. that allows me to play all day without refilling air.p8ntman442 wrote:thats always good to have 30 times the air than you do paint. would move the weight even more to the front increasing hand fatigue. No they are very nicely setup as the are now for use as primary weapons.p8ntman442 wrote:Or you could 90* out under the barrel where the qucik disconnect hose goes into the valve body, that way it looks like a tactical firearm with a flashlight under the muzzle.

yeah its on my main gun.slow'n'steady wrote:i seen a barrell a while back that look pretty bad ass. It could hook the ball in order to get around obstacles...
EDIT: may be the Apex barrel?
it basicly puts english on the ball, its adjustable, and you can twist it to control the direction.
upright it basicly gives you longer shots, to the sides it hooks it, and upside down it is great for bunker busting.
I pretty much only use it for bunker busting.
