Ok... so I found http://www.ccleaner.com

That shit works GREAT!! It truly cleans out your computer, and the shit is free... now, however... I have an older laptop... running windows XP... anyone have a free program that will optimize it? I mean REALLY do a nice job, not just pretend to speed it up, when in the end it destroys it..

Define "cleans out" for a non-nerd before I try it out and wipe out my hard drive. :lamer:

Does an NSA sweep (7 cycles) of all things that you've already deleted (recycle bin) and temporary files that YOU specify. Very user friendly, very efficient.

I found this website

http://mywebpages.comcast.net/SupportCD/OptimizeXP.html

It actually had a lot of great suggestions that don't require a file download...

Hehe, NSA sweep. The state computer crime lab in Madison, WI can go farther than that on most harddrives now. Encrypt what you save instead.

I run windows on my laptop and usually just defrag it sometimes, I don't seem to get a lot of spyware at my porn sites :)
