The only problem with the shift fork fab stuff is you'll have to have them make something on the end or bush the transmission as it has no bushings for the forks. they use plastic slider ends on each side of the shift fork. Its fucking retarded. They have each fork with the plastic sliders moulded o...

So why don't we see lots of bent forks in the Getrag used in the Fiero - different model, or hamfisted drivers? Our getrag the old HM282 (If I'm reading what your refering to right) Is a completely different Getrag transmision. Your right we don't see alot of bent forks ever. They're pretty stout. ...

I have felt and driven a 5spd V6 car that reved to 8000 rpm. I have personally felt what it felt like to try and shift the bitch even at 7300 rpm from 1st to 2nd gear. You could not shift that thing quick at all. Every time you had to slowly shift it. This is of course Curtis Walkers turbo z24. I've...

I would think that the bearings can be narrowed as well as the rods... unless the rods get narrowed so much that one side of the tang notch gets cut off... The relationship between the notch locations of where the notch is on a 60v6 bearing. And where the notch is on a set of SBC's. Different locat...

Yeah, figure might as well help a guy out, I see 5.7's on there all the time. I'm not sure how much machine work would cost. I'm in canadialand where prices are quite a bit different I'm sure. Don't forget the Bearing tang notch needs to be recut when narrowing the rods too. We have a great machine ...

Re: 3.1 liter question.
Is this how the 3.1's pick up crank signal? No as stated thats the 24X crank trigger. It is used in conjunction with the Camshaft Possition sensor for SFI opperation. The gen3's (3x00's) still use the same 7X reluctor on the crank and the same CKP sensor at the back of the block for ignition/crank ...
