The car is street-driveable, right?
Did you trailer it just in case of a breakdown away from home, so you wouldn't be stuck?

Yes the car is streetable. I can drive it anywhere. We towed just in case the trans blew up or if engine decided to quit. Precautionary thing.

nice, hopefully with my new fuel system I'll be getting into the 11's, unfortunately, my local track is closed until march, so I won't know for sure until then.

you did! not going to lie, I'm kinda surprised there hasn't been a comment made about it yet.
Thanks for keeping the list going, it's nice to have a basis for comparison mod for mod, with verified entries.
yeah, at this point, I find it humorous, I used to take it a little more seriously, but the longer I've been there, the more I realized that the ratings bar is just a pissing contest.draven wrote: ↑Sat Nov 26, 2022 11:22 amThrew you a positive rating....cuz... facts, data, evidence.......damn...... really pfiffle?ericjon262 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 25, 2022 5:32 am lol, you're welcome.

Cool! Really enjoying the vids. The 1/4 mile data analysis was great.

Too bad you were only able to do one run in five hours. Was the track that busy?
When I study datalogs of my car, I have the same ~0.5 second gearchanges. But 1-2 is slower than the other gearchanges, about 0.8-0.9 s.
Probably the low MOI twin-disc sort of clutch setup would help there, though fast shifts may not matter for the mission profile of your car.
I guess if you try more boost, you'll have to shift into 5th gear!

Re: Well, gonna give the Fiero a shot at the qtr mile tonight.
The Getrag has single cone synchros on all gears. The 1-2 and 5 synchros are on the output shaft, 3-4 is on the input shaft. That means that for the 1-2 shift, the synchro has to spin down the clutch disk, but it's working "backwards" through the second gear ratio (2.05:1) to do it, so the MoI of the clutch disk has a 2.05:1 mechanical advantage against the torque the synchro can generate. Yes, lower MoI clutch disks would help with this. For both 2-3 and 3-4 shifts, the synchro is working 1:1 against the MoI of the clutch disk, since the synchro is on the input shaft.pmbrunelle wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 11:35 pm When I study datalogs of my car, I have the same ~0.5 second gearchanges. And yeah, an irony of making the car faster is that you lose more acceleration time to gear shifting. Time to raise the rev limiter!
